Here's your match preview:

Opposition

Huddersfield Giants are on for their best ever season in the top tier of the UK Women's competition as Lori Halloran has her side in contention for a place in the top four after securing three wins in their first seven matches of the campaign.

The Giants have slowly built since winning the Betfred Women's Super League Shield in 2021 to pull themselves from bottom of the league a four wins and a sixth place finish last year. After bowing out of the Challenge Cup at the hands of the Rhinos in the quarter finals this year, they have responded by beating Warrington convincingly thanks to a hat trick from star back Amelia Brown, before Leigh Leopards and Barrow Raiders were also beaten to put the Giants fifth in the table heading into this weekend's round of fixtures. Wigan and St Helens are the two sides to defeat Huddersfield - the Warriors secured back to back shutouts with a 76-0 result at Robin Park in round seven.

England international Brown has led the Giants attack with 12 tries so far in all competitions as she chases down her total of 15 tries by this time last year. She added to a hat trick against Warrington by scoring four tries in victory over Leigh, as well as two tries each against York and Barrow, plus Molly Iceton has also been a top performer on the other wing with seven. There are plenty of familiar faces amongst the Huddersfield camp who make their return to AMT Headingley on Sunday, led by Frankie Townend and Sam Hulme who both won silverware with the Rhinos during their careers.  Tilly Davies, Kacy Haley and Faye Barraclough are also products of the club's Academy system who have got the opportunity to move into the Super League competition with the Giants.

Focusing on the club's record against the Rhinos, it weighs heavily towards the home side this weekend. Leeds have only lost once to the Giants, which came before they appeared in the first ever Women's Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in 2023, but otherwise, results have been in favour of Forsell's side since they met in 2021 for the first time. Their largest was an 82-0 triumph in 2022, thanks to two tries each from Caitlin Beevers, Georgia Roche, Courtney Winfield-Hill, Sophie Robinson, Tasha Gaines and Fran Goldthorp.
